I’ve begun to realise I need to make this post for the people I’ve met and associated with fitness in the past year...
I was not myself on prep and am beginning to only realise this now coming out of a deep dark hole called depression/ anxiety.
I was selfish and only set on one thing which was winning (didn’t have a clue it would happen though!) and that’s not a bad thing but it made me throw away my best friends and forget what I loved.
Thank you to those who have stood by my side the entire time and to those who have been encouraging and courageous alongside me, you’ve helped me be the man I am today.

I received judges feedback after this show which I found pleasingly but surprisingly critical considering taking out the overalls. This is a great thing. Gave me and @thephysiquecoachau a lot to consider and work on to be better. 2 weeks doesn’t seem@like long but I’ll show you what you can do to your body in that period. 
My dream has been realised and the work is almost done. But not yet. Not until I walk off that stage hopefully achieving a goal I have been dreaming about and working towards for years.

Prior to this, I never really understood when people said they were embarrassed to post their before/after photos. IGETITNOW.

I am genuinely embarrassed of the person I was 3 months ago. Not necessarily because I allowed myself to get a lil fluffy (but yeah, that too ), but because of the lack of control I had. Don’t get me wrong, the person in those before pictures is still #onestrongbitch. 
.
But that body doesn’t represent who I am. That body represents the “I’ll start Monday” mentality, the “One last cheat meal” mentality, the “I fell off the wagon” mentality, the “I can’t stick to a diet longer than 1 week” mentality.
.
I’ll be honest, dieting (or being in a constant calorie deficit, rather) is tough! I was hungry, fatigued, and a wee bit crabby. But that’s NOTHING compared to the growing self-loathing I felt within myself. A discontent that had been growing from years of off-again, on-again dieting. This has nothing to do with how I looked, but how I just kept letting myself down. You lose trust with yourself.

So yeah, I’m embarrassed of the before picture... But holy crap I am damn of the woman in the after pictures!!! That woman broke down barriers within herself!

The fat loss is great, and yeah, I look a lot better. But the new found love and respect I have for myself is on a whole other level. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Ok y'all. .. is this terrible quality yes but it is High Def information. So just ignore the terribly loud gym commercial and my husband chomping on his gum 

What I was saying in case you couldn't hear is the way to set up and execute: 
Your feet should be spaced hip-width apart with your grip just outside your legs.

Use an overhand grip or Alternated (my preference bc I have bad grip strength) 
Your back should be flat—neutral spine—from start to finish.

Your shoulders should be back and down.

The bar should remain in contact with your legs for the entire range of motion.

Your hips and knees should move together to transfer the bar from the ground to an upper-thigh, locked position.

Now that was how but here is why.... The deadlift itself targets all of the following muscle groups:

Gluteus Maximus: (Butt)

Quadriceps: (Upper Front legs)

Adductor Magnus: (Inner Thigh)

Hamstrings: (Upper back of legs)

Erector Spinae: (lower back)

Trapezius, upper: (upper neck muscles)

SO not only is it wonderful for those muscles. it also increases your heart rate to get into a fat burning zone when done properly and heavy enough. As well as works on your Posture!!!

Big PR on my back squats today! I actually  haven’t done back squats in a while but I’ve been working on other ways to strengthen my legs as well as strengthening my core. Ten weeks ago my core had gotten so weak due to injuries and surgery. When I finally started training again I noticed how weak my core was. I left my ego aside and started with small weights, and tons of core training. Ten weeks later and now I’m hitting big PR’s!

My back down volume sets after my heavy  sets on bench press yesterday. Was very happy still getting some solid numbers after being very fatigued.  Fought through the burn and fatigue well! 🤘 Bench press was a touch and go workout and went 2 sets of 10 135, set of 5 185, singles with 225, 255, 285, set of 2 315, set of 5 315 slingshot, set of 1 315 2-3 second pause rep, set of 7 275, set of 12 245, and a set 15 225 failure. Getting back to where I want to be but slowly stepping it up each workout. Setbacks lead to great comebacks! Goal is a 5 rep with 315 touch and go and 315 4 rep pauses.

First time training back in like 3 weeks.  Finally got a nice session in at the gym for about 2 and a half hours with my dad @9__finger !  Did some chest and then upper back. Ended it with arms.  Did 4 sets of pull ups, 4 sets of shrugs and 7 sets of pull downs 3 variations. Lastly killed arms. Felt rusty and even a lil weak but I bounce back quick! 🤘 I'll be back to normal soon.
